Equal rights
It seems to us in America that Islamic countries continue to ignore rights of women and non muslims (i.e. stoning, lashes, etc). What is your opinion of these acts on women for comitting crimes such as dress and adultery? Should they be subject to these punishments?

A Veteran's Word of Caution (Pertaining to Terry Jones)
Ladies & Gentlemen,
Again, I come before you to voice my concerns on the rights of others. Considering the weight of the situation in Florida concering Terry Jones, I hope a majority of the world understands that this is not our way in America. When I served, it was for the protection of all Americans, regardless of religion, creed, or race! It is for this reason that I must speak out.
My indiscriminate oath bound me to protect the rights of Jews, Muslims, Christains, Buddhists, or any other label one chooses to distinguish one American from the next. Terry Jones' plan to burn a key symbol of an entire group of people is ...
You know what, screw it! This man is really not worth my time, and I will only state that he is doing this for some self-righteous glory without acknowledging that he is going against the God he so truly believes in.
Straight to the point, Mr. Jones, you are a fanatic and it is the fanatic of any religion that brings pain upon others!
Jesus said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Render unto Caeser that which is Caeser's as the authorities have been appointed by God and therefore speak for God."
Your own government denounces this self vendetta that you impose on the Anniversary of one of the darkest days of America. So, why are you still praying for a different response. Sir, only fanatics choose to abide by codes that make them appear right, while dismissing the true meaning of reasoning.
While recognizing that there are bad seeds in every religion, and that not all religious people are fanatics, what is the point of creating a flashpoint?
Mr. Jones, if you do this, don't hide behind our Constitution! Be a man, and MAN UP! Stevie Wonder sees what's going to happen. Your place of worship may not be in existence this time next week and that's sad only because of the misguided you are placing in harm's way. I have more respect for the fanatics who lay down their lives by drinking poisoned kool-aid at the whim of their leader or the sign of an approaching comet than I have for you. People you have no dealings with will be placed in harm's way, our soldiers will be placed in harms way, the officers who will have to guard your family will be in harms way, simply because you have this fantasy of granduer.
Sir, if you wan't to fight, go fight! Don't drag us into it any more than we have to be already, and with all those fanatics giving you death threats, it only takes one to get to ya. So, word of advise and I don't claim to speak for God, but you obviously aren't listening to him or the authorities he's placed in power according to scripture! With that I say, Have a coke and a smile and shut the hell up!
To the Muslim people, this veteran has no respect for this man or the act he believes will...I don't know what he's thinking. Please, forgive his ignorance.
In closing, America, I encourage all of us to cut him off from the media world. While we can't infringe upon his rights, we do not have to watch it on the morning, noon, or evening news. Let him have his party, but we don't have to show up.
This veteran calls for a complete boycott from here on against mentioning this so called burning, and/or displaying any footage thereof. I understand freedom of speech and freedom of the press, but when you put them together, that's a power keg.
Disgustedly Apalled, Again!

TROUT UNLIMITED’S GOLD RUSH CHAPTER EXPANDS
The Gold Rush Chapter of Trout Unlimited, based in Dahlonega, has decided to expand its annual Gold Rush Cup Fly Fishing Challenge into a two-day event this year. The second annual event will take place this fall on the beautiful and picturesque waters of the Chestatee River.
The competition, which will allow two-person teams to match their skills against other teams, is scheduled from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, November 6-7. It will again be held at Frog Hollow in Lumpkin County, one of the most popular trophy trout streams in the country. In the event of inclement weather that weekend, a rain date will be provided. Directions to the venue and other details can be found online at www.goldrushtu.org or www.froghollowflyfishing.com.
The opening day will feature the Amateur Qualifier with the winning two-person team moving on to compete in the Gold Rush Cup Challenge the following day. Entry fee for the Amateur Qualifier, a new category of competition this year, is $250 per team, and this competition is not open to past or present professional fishing guides.
The professional competition on Sunday has an entry fee of $500 per team. The winning two-person team in the 2009 inaugural event was from Unicoi Outfitters and consisted of Chuck Head and Hamp Cross. The grand prize in this year’s Gold Rush Cup Challenge is $1,500, plus two quality, custom-made fly rods. Team awards presented on both days will include first, second and third place recognition, as well as Best Angler Award for the most total inches caught by on individual. The competition will be conducted according to Gold Rush tournament committee rules and regulations.
On each day, a maximum of 10 two-person teams will be permitted on a first-come basis, while a minimum of five two-person teams must be registered in order for a competition to take place. The deadline for registration is Saturday, Oct. 23, and the registration and entry fee for each team is non-refundable.
Attendance is open to the public with fly casting, fly tying and rod building demonstrations being provided by Gold Rush Chapter members and sponsors. Food and drink will be available for purchase. There will be no charge for attendance or parking.
If an insufficient number of participants register for this event, all funds for individuals and businesses will be returned.
A kick-off dinner will be hosted at the site of the tournament in Frog Hollow on the Friday night before the competition;. It will begin at 6 p.m., and there is no charge, but donations will be accepted to help offset the cost of the event. A participant captain's meeting will also be held at Frog Hollow on the Friday evening prior to the tournament.
The tournament committee is still accepting corporate/commercial sponsorships for the event, and event sponsors will receive a table and business hyperlink to and from the Gold Rush Cup Challenge website. Corporate/commercial sponsorships cost $50, and free table space will be provided for appropriate non-profit organizations. Competing teams are encouraged to obtain team sponsors to help defray the cost of their entry fees.
More details about the event, as well as a detailed listing of the rules, are posted on the Gold Rush Chapter website at www.goldrushtu.org. All proceeds from this event will go to Trout Unlimited, a 501 (C)(3), non-profit organization.
The mission of Trout Unlimited's Gold Rush Chapter, is to promote, educate and inform the public about the joy of fly fishing; conserve, protect, and restore the coldwater fisheries and their watersheds in the North Georgia area; and assist the T.U. national organization to do the same at the national level.

S.O.S. Massive and permanent human rights violation.
THIS IS AN S.O.S./ S.O.S./ S.O.S. MORE THAN A REPORT.
Human rights violation happen everyday massively in this land of corruption, (on the south of the U.S). Destroying people´s lives and families. Most of it is not shown on TV news or elsewhere.
Human rights defenders lie and don´t protect or defend as they offer and as I have witnessed. Cynically their own rights are broken daily right in front of them and they don´t seem to do anything.
I request any serious reporters or journalist to participate in these matters to show publicly. You could participate even by recording phone conversations, demanding justice and asking for help, assistance, etc. To be shown on TV, in the i-report section or elsewhere. Thanks ! It´s URGENT !

Peaceful campaign
I want to define a 'PEACE' defination. My question to imam are very simple.
If i would believe in 'PEACE' then i would build my church/temple/mosq somewhere else and had shown respect to majority of US Citizen - the country i live in , rather then building shouting we practicing 'PEACE'.
I would show a Peaceful nature rather then speaking and not changing agenda.

The Fourmile Canyon Wildfire - EMERGENCY RESPONSE
07 September 2010
The Fourmile Canyon Wildfire - Front Range, CO
DAY TWO - PART THREE
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
I write this as Day Two of the Fourmile Canyon Wildfire draws to a technical close. Firefighters continue to work around the clock in the mountains just to the west of my house. While we are in no danger here at the present time, thousands of people have been and continue to be evacuated.
One of the constants around here is the sound of the much-welcomed firefighting aircraft overhead. Both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft flew countless sorties over my neighborhood today…it was a sight to behold.
I even headed to North Boulder to Wonderland Lake where the helicopters were going to fill their tanks. Gathered with many other Boulder residents, we got a chance to see this kind of emergency responding up close. It was pretty incredible -- such skilled pilots and precise maneuvering. I am just so glad we have these folks here to help us.
Keep us all here along Colorado's Front Range in your thoughts tonight please…
Be safe,
PHAmanNYC (in CO)

Sept 11th 2001 ...photos...
I have never shown these pictures to before. They have intentionally been in a closet in a box. They are my personal reminder of that tragic day.
I was here in NYC & watched the entire string of atrocious events unfold on tv. It was impossible to believe that just south of me the Twin Towers were dying along w/ thousands of people ;{
I will never forget the exact moment my tv went dead, "No Signal" was on every station. This was because the first plane hit the tower w/ the local tv antennaes on top of it.
I have looked at MANY photos from that day.
Now, I'm ready to share mine.

100907 Larry King Imam Feisal Question from Gary Makowski Seattle
It is clear that you feel justified to take advantage of the religious freedom in America to further Islamic prostylization here. i would like to ask then, what you are doing, as a Muslim leader, to support Christians and Jews and other faiths in Muslim countries to have the same rights to not only practice their faith freely, but to proselytize as well. As you well know, it is a serious crime in most Muslim countries to try to convert a Muslim to another religion.
Thank you.

The Mosque
By the law of United States you have the right to build your mosque and the one that wants to burn the Koran has the same right by United States laws. You are not sensitive to other people why should the one that wants to burn your Koran should be sensitive to you or any other Muslims?
The Muslims see the world through stone age mentality and as one way street. They took over the Sofia Agaia, a Church and turn it to a Mosque, they build the rock of the Dom on the most holy place for the Jews, why? because they could. It is time to stop.
